Learning a language is not merely a matter of exchanging a foreign word for a native word and vise versa. Although it is that at its very earliest steps, to truly learn a language and translate accurately and well, you must learn the meaning of full phrases and the intent of the writer/speaker in their native tongue. Mr. Sitchler will take you through this linguistic journey with his expertise in the German language, and show you the ins-and-outs of GOOD German translation for your college course, or life skills.
Here is an example of a German examination item from the University of Toronto. April/May Exam, 1986: Reflections, by Albert Schweitzer. This will show you an exact, verbatim translation, followed by a reasonable English translation.
